8BitDo has partnered with Superdeluxe Games to launch a special edition of its M30 Bluetooth Gamepad. The controller will be sold as the 8BitDo M30 Bluetooth Gamepad Earthion Edition as a limited edition accessory for the upcoming shoot-em-up video game, Earthion.

The 8BitDo M30 Bluetooth Gamepad is a modern take on SEGA's controller for the SEGA Mega Drive. Announced in 2019, the controller is available to buy in Black and White. Now, 8BitDo has announced a special edition.

Called the 8BitDo M30 Bluetooth Gamepad - Earthion Edition, this special edition is based on the upcoming shoot 'em up game, Earthion. The special edition controller is mostly white with a large Earthion logo on the front. It has dark gray XYZ buttons and red ABC buttons while the start, star, select, and home buttons are all yellow. The shoulder buttons are also the same shade of red as the ABC face buttons. There are also inscriptions related to the game printed on the face of the controller.

The controller is only visually different from the standard 8BitDo M30 Bluetooth Gamepad (curr. available on Amazon for $24.99). Like the standard version, the six-button controller is compatible with the Nintendo Switch/Switch 2, Windows, and Android devices. It has a matte-textured D-pad and can be connected to compatible devices via Bluetooth or a USB-C cable. There's a 480mAh battery inside for up to 18 hours of play time.

Earthion is developed by Yuzo Koshiro and published by Japan's Superdeluxe Games which 8BitDo has partnered with for the special edition controller. Earthion is scheduled to be released on July 31, 2025 and it will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. There will also be a cartridge version for the Mega Drive, but it won't be available until next year.
