8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller gets a new colorway

When the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller was announced in February 2025, it was available in three colors — Purple, Black, and White. 8BitDo has now announced a new green color, bringing the available color options to four. The new color comes with a matching 2.4GHz adapter and charging dock in the box.

The new color seems to have been quietly unveiled this month, and while 8BitDo says it is exclusive to its online eShop, we found that it is available on Amazon via the Aknes storefront and not the official 8BitDo store. Not to worry though, as Aknes is one of 8bitDo's official resellers.

The new green controller is available to buy now on Amazon for $59.99 as well as on the 8BitDo eShop. However, while Amazon seems to have it ready to ship out as early as Monday, June 9, the 8BitDo eShop says the green controller ships on July 20.

Save for the new paintjob, there's no difference between it and the three colors released earlier. The 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller has TMR joysticks and dual trigger modes with a switch to allow them to function either as non-linear tactile triggers or linear Hall Effect triggers.

The controller also has six-axis motion control, extra bumpers (R4 and L4), RGB fire rings, 2 customizable back paddle buttons, and a turbo function.The 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller connects via Bluetooth to Android devices and via 2.4GHz wireless or USB-C to Windows devices.

While the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless Controller is available to buy in four colors, the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Bluetooth Controller which is compatible with the Nintendo Switch is only available in Black and White.
