Honor Pad GT 2 Pro: New gaming tablet surfaces ahead of its imminent launch

Honor is gearing up to hold a launch event later today, July 15. This event is expected to unveil the X70, and it seems that the company will also be introducing a new gaming tablet, the Pad GT 2 Pro. Ahead of the imminent launch, the device has popped up on Weibo, and this leak has showcased the design and shared the core specs.

As the post from the Weibo user  @_冰狼 shows, the Pad GT 2 Pro will come with a slightly different design than its predecessor. Instead of a squircle camera island on the back, the photos show a boxy island. However, the back still retains a single-camera configuration, which is paired with a flash module.

The post also shares that the upcoming gaming tablet will pack the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 under the hood. This would be a slight upgrade over the predecessor, which comes with the 8s Gen 3. The model that the Weibo users got their hands on pairs the last-gen flagship SoC with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. It's unclear whether this is the top-end config.

Regarding the front, the Honor Pad GT 2 Pro is shown to sport a screen that's larger than 12 inches with a resolution of 3048 x 2032 pixels. Among the other highlights revealed by the Weibo user is a large 10,100 mAh battery (200 W Ugreen 25K power bank curr. $99.99 on Amazon), support for IMAX Enhanced, and accessory compatibility. There's no word about the price, but given that Honor is expected to officially unveil the device later today, the wait won't be long.
