Leak reveals early details of new compact OnePlus gaming tablet

Reliable tipster Smart Pikachu recently shared that OnePlus is planning to release a gaming tablet. While the previous report didn't disclose much in terms of the specs, the tipster's new post on Weibo has detailed some display specs, and it seems that the pad will be rivaling the newly released Lenovo Legion Y700 and RedMagic Tablet 3 Pro.

To be specific, Smart Pikachu shares that the current test model of the upcoming OnePlus gaming tablet has an 8.X-inch display. This suggests that the tab will feature a compact form factor. The tipster adds that the device's screen has a 165 Hz refresh rate and a 3K resolution, similar to what Lenovo offers with its Legion Y700 Gen 4 tab.

The tipster also notes that the rumored OnePlus gaming tablet has a "geeky and simple" design. Looking back, the recently announced Pad 2 Pro, also known as the Pad 3 in the international market, features a simple design as well, and it's possible that the upcoming tab may sport a similar outlook but with some gaming-focused design elements.

It's still unclear what the SoC of the device will be, but the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro launched with the Snapdragon 8 Elite (available on TradingShenzhen). However, it's possible that the upcoming gaming tablet may feature the Dimensity 9400+, similar to the Redmi K Pad that's about to launch soon.

There's no word on the price range either, but the Redmi K Pad is expected to have a launch price of around $560 in China, while the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro launched with a starting price of about $557. More details about the device could emerge in the coming days.
