More than three years later, OnePlus is ready to announce a follow-up to its popular neckband-style earphones, the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z2. The manufacturer has announced a launch date and revealed a few details of the new earphones which will launch as the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3.
Based on the promotional images, it appears the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 will practically be identical to the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z2 in terms of design, as features such as the magnetic earbuds, silicone material, and in-line remote remain the same.
The OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 will be available in two colors at launch — Samba Sunset (orange) and Mambo Midnight (black). Although, there's a possibility that more colors may be announced later as was the case with the Bullets Wireless Z2 (available on Amazon for $54).
The OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z2 may not look different from its predecessor but it will have some upgrades such as faster charging. According to the promotional materials, a 10-minute charge of the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 will provide up to 27 hours of use while total battery life is 36 hours on a full charge. In comparison, a 10-minute charge of the Bullets Wireless Z2 provides up to 20 hours of use while its total battery life is 30 hours. Both earphones have significantly better battery life than the Beats Flex Wireless Earbuds.
There are still a lot of unknowns about the upcoming Bluetooth earphones, but one thing that almost seems certain is the lack of active noise cancellation. This is because the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z2 has an ANC variant that was announced in 2023, and since this doesn't have ANC in its name, it most likely doesn't have the feature.
The OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z3 will be announced on June 19 in India but there's no info yet regarding its availability in other markets.
