Although the total appears impressive, it suggests that Microsoft may not meet its own goals for growth.

There are several reasons why gamers should wait for Microsoft to provide an official update. It's unknown when Kevin K. last revised the information in his LinkedIn profile. Additionally, the figure of 35 million+ is inexact, and the actual number may be higher. Still, critics argue that it's further evidence that Xbox Game Pass subscription growth has plateaued. As the service gained customers during the COVID-19 pandemic, Microsoft was more eager to share progress reports.

Reports previously circulated that Microsoft aimed for 100 million Game Pass subscribers by 2030. By early 2024, it was clear that the company may struggle to reach that benchmark.
