Google has suffered another substantial leak when it comes to its forthcoming Pixel 10 smartphone series. Ultimately, Google often ties with Samsung for the company that is the worst at limiting smartphone leaks. To that end, the latter has been caught posting promotional material relating to the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE ahead of time.
By contrast, a Pixel 10 prototype has now turned up on Goofish, a Chinese secondhand marketplace similar to eBay. Setting aside the bizarre product description, the Design Validation Testing (PVT) prototype appears to confirm that the Pixel 10 will launch with a few notable upgrades of last year's model (curr. $549 on Amazon).
For example, Google has been prototyping its entry-level flagship with three rear-facing cameras, including what looks like a periscope telephoto lens. While this may be the 1/3.2-inch and 5x sensor from the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, there are suggestions that the Pixel 10 will feature the 48 MP primary and 12 MP ultra-wide-angle cameras from the cheaper Pixel 9a.
The flat design and thin display bezels of last year's Pixel 9 return, though. The leak highlights that Google has switched to a Tensor G5 chipset too, a close-up of which we have embedded above. Currently, the Pixel 10 is expected to launch on August 20 alongside the Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. New smartwatches and earbuds should be in attendance too, including the Pixel Buds 2a.
